PUENTE MAYORGA (SPAIN)

The Puente Mayorga plant in Spain is one of the largest LAB production facilities worldwide. It uses UOP's HF technology based on alkylation with hydrofluoric acid, and we produce normal paraffins, linear alkylbenzene (LAB), heavy alkylate (HAB), and sulfonic acid (LABSA). Raw materials, such as kerosene, hydrogen, and benzene, are directly supplied from our Gibraltar-San Roque refinery. In turn, this plant returns hydrogenated kerosene to the refinery without the normal paraffins, making it an excellent fuel for aviation reactors.

It is the first plant in the world to replace its HF technology with the Detal flex 2-phenyl technology, developed by Cepsa and UOP, making it a more modern and efficient plant.
