    Palos de la Frontera (Spain)

The chemical plant in Palos de la Frontera, in Huelva (Spain), is an integrated plant producing phenol, acetone and cumene. The continuous investments made over the past few years have transformed this facility, which also has a port terminal, into one of Europe's most modern and technologically advanced industrial centers.

This is the world's first plant to successfully produce sustainable-origin phenol with the same technical characteristics as those derived from fossil raw materials. In addition, 100% of the electricity used in the plant comes from renewable sources.

Integrated alongside this facility, we’re constructing Spain's first chemical plant to pioneer the production of the base product for the disinfectant gels in the medical-pharmaceutical industry: isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Here you can find more details about the project, which we hope will be completed by the end of 2025: IPA Palos plant
