    Acetone chemical in a road

Acetone is a colourless, volatile, flammable and polar (miscible in water) compound. Given its high solvent properties and its high rate of evaporation, it is used to dissolve oils, both natural and synthetic, resins, gums, waxes, etc. It is particularly used in the extraction and purification of many organic compounds. It is also used as a solvent in paints, adhesives, inks, etc.
